Creative Tip | The Art of Preparation
preparation before filming and it’s benefits
Many people don't realize this, but the best video and photo production work begins days before the shutter on the camera clicks and before a single second of video frame is captured. Preparing and setting up equipment, charging up all the gear, updating the internal software, and getting all storage devices (cards of all shapes and sizes) takes time and dedication.
It is our belief at Monawar Studios, that when you prepare days before any video or photo-shoot for a client (regardless of how small or big the project is), you are setting yourself up for success! This takes a massive amount of stress off your shoulders, so you can focus on the creative aspect of production.
When you prepare for your shoots, you can guarantee the following four things:
A camera, stabilizer, or any piece of equipment does not malfunction or geek out in the middle of an important moment you are capturing (we have witnessed this first hand from other creatives, and it can make you sweat!).
If you are running low on battery or storage on any piece of gear, you have lots of backups ready to take charge!
You are not stressing out about what lens goes on what camera, because you have prepared the gear you need in order to make the switch between shots easy and streamlined.
All sensors on your lenses and cameras are clean, eliminating the heart-breaking realization of seeing dust specs and spots on your footage when you go to edit. These things are very difficult to clean in post, even with the advances in A.I.
It may take an entire days work to get your gear and equipment prepared for a shoot, but you are eliminating stress not only on yourself but also on your client (and the last thing you want to do is make your client worry or be stressed!)
This makes you look professional when you are not stumbling over all your equipment trying to figure out what you want to do.
